Kent can't hold lead

Kent State couldn't hold a 9-8 halftime lead and lost to visiting Kennesaw State 18-11 in the Golden Flashes' first ASUN Conference game.

Three early goals by Lluna Katz gave Kent State (1-13, 0-4) a 5-1 lead. The Owls (6-7, 1-1) responded with a 5-0 run, before Kent took a late lead heading into the break. Katz finished with a career-best five goals and Megan Kozar tallied three scores for Kent.

Wickey 10th in hammer throw

Kent State's Jake Wickey (Medina) finished 10th in the men's hammer throw on the first of three days at the Tennessee Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. Teammate Bradley Heck was 14th overall in the javelin.
