Scali shuts out Pitt

in KSU's 10-0 win

Kent State starter Andrea Scali tossed a five-inning shutout in a 10-0 win over host Pittsburgh on Tuesday evening.

The redshirt freshman improved her record to 14-7 after allowing just two hits and two walks and striking out eight for KSU (19-20).

Megan Turner continued her recent tear at the plate with a three-run homer to left field in the fourth inning.

Hunter Brancifort and Kristyn Eckl each smacked two-run hits for the Flashes, who have won seven of their past 10 games.

Center fielder Maria Cegledy slapped two singles and scored three runs.

The bottom of the order did most of the damage for KSU with all 10 runs and seven of the eight hits coming after the fourth batter in the lineup.
