UA's Majid places fourth

University of Akron senior Kamar Majid (Firestone) registered a cumulative score of 6,736 to place fourth in the men's decathlon to highlight the Zips' efforts at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific in Azusa, California, on Thursday. Freshman Bobby Casey added a career-best score of 6,070 to finish 10th in the initial decathlon of his collegiate career, and redshirt junior Malik Hudson scored 3,829.

Majid ran a career-best time of 14.99 in the 110-meter hurdles to place third in the event, and followed with the third-best mark in the discus. In the pole vault, Casey cleared a career-best 15-1, and Majid and Hudson eclipsed 14-9 and 14-5¼, respectively.
