RubberDucks 7, Baysox 4

The RubberDucks greeted Bowie Baysox reliever Tyler Erwin with four consecutive singles and three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a 4-4 tie en route to a victory in the teams' series opener Thursday night at Canal Park.

Connor Marabell started the surge with a one-out, infield single to third and Ka'ai Tom followed with a hit to left. Marabell scored the go-ahead run on Wilson Garcia's single to right field, and right fielder Yusniel Diaz committed a fielding error that allowed Tom to move to third.

Li-Jen Chu followed with another hit to right to score Tom, and Garcia scored when Alexis Pantoja reached on a fielding error to put the Ducks (5-9) up by three runs.

Reliever Argenis Angulo (1-1) earned the win in relief, and closer James Karinchak struck out three batters in the ninth for his second save of the year.

Everyone in the Ducks' lineup had at least one hit, with leadoff hitter Andruw Monasterio leading the way with three singles. Marabell and Pantoja added two hits each.
