CVCA 7, Cuyahoga Falls 6
A seven-run second inning was just enough for the Royals to escape an upset attempt by the host Black Tigers on Wednesday.
CVCA (12-12) smacked 15 hits and 12 of them were singles that kept a marathon inning alive.
Seven players each scored one run for the Royals and only Jackie Brighton had two RBI. Four other Royals had one RBI, and Jackie Budrevich (5-2) got the win in the circle.
Cuyahoga Falls (4-14) got a run-scoring triple from Anna Bobbitt and a one-run double from Kylee Phillips.
Woodridge 7, Cloverleaf 6
After the Colts scored two runs in the top of the seventh to take a one-run lead, the Bulldogs answered with two in the bottom of the inning for a walk-off Portage Trail Conference victory.
Andrew Mekeal delivered the game-winning heroics with his second single of the game.
Jarrett Martin and Kyle Schneider both singled and doubled, driving in two runs and scoring twice for the Bulldogs (15-6, 12-2).
Woodridge reliever Max Asher came on in the sixth and blew the save, but got a win after Mekeal's clutch single completed the seventh-inning comeback.
