Flashes advance to

national championships

Kent State placed first at the East Lansing regional to advance to the NCAA national championships next week in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Golden Flashes finished with a three-day total of 860, edging second-place Arizona by 1 stroke. The two schools were the only ones in the 18-team field to finish under par after all three rounds.

Pimnipa Panthong shot the lowest total for KSU, carding a 4-under 212 to place second individually.

Teammate Michaela Finn came in just behind Panthong and tied for fourth individually at 1 under.
