CVCA 8, Revere 7

A late Minutemen rally fell short as the Royals held off Revere to capture a Norwayne Division III sectional title on Thursday.

The top of the lineup for CVCA (13-12) combined for eight of the team's 11 hits to help the Royals overcome five errors in the field.

Leadoff batter Kally Ashton went 3-for-3 with a single, two doubles, a stolen base and four runs scored. Megan Henning followed her with a 3-for-4 effort that included two singles, a double, one run and four RBI.

Lindsey Curcio slapped a single and a double, driving in two.

For Revere (9-13), Katie Azzolina fell a home run short of the cycle, scoring twice and driving in four runs. Lauren Skidmore added a double and triple with three RBI.

 

Perry 16, GlenOak 5

The two Federal League schools combined to crank seven home runs as the Panthers routed the host Golden Eagles.

Perry catcher Gia Durieux launched two homers and drove in three runs. First baseman Payton Gottshall slapped three singles, one double and tallied three RBI.

Drilling long balls for GlenOak were Olivia Vranich, Karlie Boron and Brooklyn Krum. Vranich drove in three of the five runs.
