The Kent State softball team’s Mid-American Conference Tournament game against Ball State scheduled for Thursday night at Firestone Stadium was postponed because of rain in the top of the third inning with the Golden Flashes leading 3-0.

The second-seeded Flashes (25-23) scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning against the sixth-seeded Cardinals (34-19). Both teams lost their openers on Wednesday, so the loser will be eliminated from the tournament.

The Kent State-Ball State contest will resume at 10:30 a.m. Friday, with the winner advancing to face fifth-seeded Central Michigan (22-27-1) in an elimination game later Friday.
