Tournament baseball continues this week with several area teams in the mix.

The Division I district at Barberton is set for Tuesday with Wadsworth (18-7) facing Brunswick (14-12) at 2 p.m. and Medina (17-10) playing Firestone (20-8) at 5 p.m.

Host Wadsworth beat Highland 3-0 in a sectional final on Thursday when Nick Lallathin pitched a one-hit shutout, had two singles and scored one run. Brock Snowball and Chase Diosy are also impact players for the Grizzlies.

Brunswick will come to Barberton after topping visiting Archbishop Hoban 9-3 on Thursday with two hits apiece by Kyle Goessler, Michael McFadden and Kyle Kuchta and a home run by Derek Kutrubs.

Firestone ventured to Wooster and earned a 3-2 sectional final win on Thursday with a complete-game pitching performance by Joe Durkee. James Spengler hit a single and batted in two runs for the Falcons, Connor O’Brien had two singles and scored two runs, and Josh Alexander had a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Medina beat visiting Copley 13-3 in five innings Thursday with three hits apiece by Nate Lucarelli and Jake Johnson. Johnson also had five RBI and scored three runs, Lucarelli scored twice and Breydan Cavey scored three runs.

Elsewhere in Division I, Hudson and North Canton will host district tournaments.

Walsh Jesuit (23-3) will meet Solon at 4 p.m. Tuesday and Hudson (22-4) will take on Shaker Heights at 7 p.m.

Walsh, a 10-0 winner over visiting Stow on Thursday, features Nathan Stahl, Jake Armsey, Henry Kaczmar, Nick Vaccaro and Yassir Kahook.

Solon and Shaker Heights advanced to Hudson with wins on the road. Solon beat host Kent Roosevelt 6-1 on Thursday and Shaker Heights eliminated Twinsburg 4-1.

Hudson beat visiting Kenston 4-3 on Thursday when Robbie Pacsi drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh inning. Parker Tallman earned the win, Nolan O’Connell had two singles and an RBI and Blake Hartline hit a triple, had one RBI and scored the final run.

The 2 p.m. game at Hoover will pit Jackson (23-3) against Lake (18-10), and the 5 p.m. tilt features Hoover (16-10) taking on Perry (12-11).

Jackson beat Boardman 9-2 on Thursday behind pitcher Yianni Skeriotis, who improved to 9-0 this season and 27-0 in his career. Matt Hicks had three hits and two RBI, and Jake Ryan hit a three-run triple.

Monday’s Division II games include doubleheaders at Twinsburg and Louisville.

At Twinsburg, Aurora will meet Chagrin Falls at 2 p.m. and Matt Groggs, Josh Junko and Taylor Sobiech will lead CVCA against Cleveland Benedictine at 4:30 p.m.

The Louisville district semifinal matchups are Norton versus Marlington at 2 p.m. and Tallmadge versus Louisville at 5 p.m. Norton (19-1) features Luke Bosley, Clay Borrelli, Ben Aiken, Parker Hray, Clay Crawford and Steven Cruz. Tallmadge (15-7) is led by Richie Eyre, Sam Seeker, Todd Bangtson, Jake Reifsnyder and Orion Kroah.
