Kent continues at NCAA

Kent State showed improvement in Sunday's second round of the Division I NCAA championships at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

No team completed its second round on Saturday and 12 teams had not even teed off when play was suspended. Because of the schedule change, the stroke play portion of the tournament was shortened from 72 to 54 holes, with all teams competing on Monday's third round. The top eight teams after the third round will advance to the match play portion of the championship beginning Tuesday.

Kent State was 49 over and in 21st place, well behind leader Duke at 2 over. Michaela Finn shot an even par 73 — a 12-stroke improvement from her first round — was was tied for 87th place to lead the Golden Flashes. Karoline Stromo improved by 11 strokes for a 3-over 75.

Pimnipa Panthong and Chloe Salot are tied for 95th with a two-round total of 160.
