Sea Dogs 3, RubberDucks 2
The RubberDucks twice rallied from one-run deficits but couldn't do it a third time in an Eastern League loss to the Sea Dogs in Portland, Maine, on Sunday afternoon.
C.J. Catham, the league's leading hitter with a .297 average, doubled in the game-winning run off Ducks starter Adam Scott (4-3) with one out in the sixth, ending Scott's day.
Connor Marabell had two hits and drove in both runs for the Ducks (54-65), who scored single runs in the third and fifth innings
Left-hander Daniel McGrath (5-0) limited the Ducks to one earned run on four hits and four walks with seven strikeouts in six innings.
The Ducks open a three-game series against the Trenton Thunder beginning at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday with Indians ace Corey Kluber scheduled to make a rehab start.
