St. Vincent-St. Mary 23, East 7

Senor quarterback Luke Lindsay threw for one score and ran two yards for another as the Irish (2-1) got past the visiting Dragons (0-3).

After George Linberger put St. V-M up 7-0 with a two-yard scoring run, Lindsay connected with Josh Nickerson for a 44-yard scoring play.

Luke Dobson kicked a 42-yard field goal to cap the scoring and put the Irish ahead 23-7 at halftime.

 

Rootstown 31, East Canton 0

Quarterback Trey Burch used his feet, not his arm, to lead the Rovers (3-0) over the visiting Hornets. Burch ran 11 times for 161 yards and touchdown of 72 and three yards.

Charles Harris also scored twice for Rootstown. He opened the scoring with an 83-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, and then returned a punt 51 yards for a score to make it 18-0 in the second quarter.

 

Jackson 49, Boardman 14

Hunter Geissinger threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns and Ethan Adkins rushed for 177 yards and two scores to lead the Polar Bears (2-1) over visiting Boardman (1-2). Jackson outgained Boardman 477-175 in total yards.

Jake Ryan both two of Geissinger's touchdown passes in the first half, and Johnny Kulich grabbed another for 59 yards out in the third quarter.

 

Massillon 49, Warren Harding 7

The Tigers (3-0) won at Harding for its third consecutive running-clock game. The game was called with 3:12 to play.

 

Lake 43, Copley 9

Lake improved to 3-0 behind Dreden Owens' three-touchdown performance. Owens ran the ball 17 times for 154 yards and scored on runs of three, one and 58 yards.

The Blue Streaks defense got in on the scoring action with a first-quarter safety and a 50-yard interception return by Carson Miller in the third.
